Is my baby parakeet sick?

He is 2 months old and I brought him home yesterday. He seems to sleep a lot and sits at the bottom of the cage. He also has not said one word. When he does wake up all he does is preen his feathers and then goes back to sleep. Is this normal behavior for a baby budgie or should I be concerned?

Hi my 3 year old male parakeet seems sick. his feathers around his bottom are all coming out, and his stool is watery. plus his eyes seem a bit more closed than usual. aside from that he seems ok, he’s still his usual perky self, more or less, aside from a few minutes when he was sitting on his stick bent over with his eyes closed looking very pathetic.
does anyone know what could be wrong with him? please answer quick… I don’t want him to die.
I’m serious. If you have no good answer just don’t bother.

Parents won’t let me take SICK parakeet to vet?

I think my parakeet has a respiratory infection. It does not look extremely dangerous/severe at this point (he is breathing heavily, occasionally puffing up, tail quivering BAD, and maybe a little bit of seed stuck in one nostril), but I am afraid that if I do not get it taken care of now, it will get worse and the vets won’t be able to do anything for him. My mom keeps saying “It’s just a BIRD. So what if he dies? It will be sad, but that is just what happens.” My dad told me that he would help me out with the vet costs but that animals can usually get better by themselves so I should wait a few days. I have them to the point now that they will let me take him, but they are extremely reluctant and think it would be really stupid.
Should I wait?
What should I say?
What is the normal cost to get this taken care of? (I plan to take him to an avian vet)

How do i cure my sick parakeet at home? HELP!!?

My 2-3 year old female Parakeet has recently bin bobbing its tail alot, breathing with mouth open and rapidly a squeeky soft “uh” sounds. I think it has a respiratory infection. How do i cure/nurse/treat back to health?
but without taking it to the vet or that expensive stuff

i think it got sick from staying in the kitchen to long. i might have left them in the cold kitchen at night a few times, but now they sleep in my room. theres two keets in the cage, Tina and her boy Sasha. sasha acts completely normal but Tina is differnt. she chases him away from were shes sitting (her favortie perch). but i dont know. should i put a heat lamp by them?

my parakeet is sick (got two, a week back),swollen eyes,sleeping a lot and not eating much. ?

there are no avian vet in my area..I took him to my dog’s vet who put some cream around his eyes..not much help. I am feeding by spoon (often, he takes few bites)and giving water,also keeping the cage warm with a room heater. It’s upto me only..any suggestions/home/OTC remedy or anything else I could do? His partner is grooming once in a while in the eye area (which he seems to like) and keeping company.

my parakeet has mites on his beak.. the top beak is extremely long and the bottom one is deteriorating… and causing him to have problems eating. he is currently or is there an alternative way to deal with this problem.eating vitamin food and has a bird protecter in the cage. is it possible to have his beak trimmed or is there and alternative way to deal with this problem.
