What do you mean they were going to kill each other?
They should be together taking turns sitting on the eggs to keepthem warm for a number of days until they hatch.
Then when they do the mom and dad should take of it together so the baby keets know their parents “scent”
We had 2 litters and they took care of them their selves. You should probably go on a web search on the care. Good luck.
I’d let mom and dad hatch and raise the babies, unless you want to do hand feeding. If you’ve never done this before you’ll need to get instruction from some one who has, check with your local pet store or your Avian vet.
Be sure mom and dad get the proper food ( and I don’t mean just seed)..offer them hard boiled eggs mashed, peas and corn, hang lettuce greens in the cage..but remove all fresh food after 4 to 6 hrs..
And relax..they know what their doing.
Mom and Dad should care for them together. You don’t have to do anything to care for the babies. Buy or make a breeding box for next time. You can drill a hole in a wine box that has a sliding side so the birds can enter. (the sliding side is your access) You can insert a block of wood at the bottom with a slight hollow sanded into it so the eggs will roll towards the center. You can devise a way to hang it outside the cage with the hole at the center of the open door. Don’t peek too much, especially if you don’t handle your birds often.
My parakeets had dud eggs at the bottom of the cage until I made a breeding box. When the babies grew feathers, they were adorable and nobody minded the handling. It was great to watch mom and dad feeding each other during their shift in the box.
They’ll take care of themselves, keep any drafts off the cage. The eggs may not hatch. I forget how long it takes.
