how do I care for parakeet heliconia plants?

I have 3 parakeet heliconias in front of my house. What should I do to ensure that they thrive?

    Where are you located? They are not freeze hardy.
    I would give them mixed sunlight with protection from the sun during the warmer hours.
    High organic soil with good drainage.
