I wouldn’t do anything but, take your parakeet to the vet…….right away to mend.
uh, i don’t know . . . find a vet?
dont mess around with his leg or try to fix it. You should take it to a local nature, or animal center, where you know that they have animal rehablitation. Calling the nature center to ask a staff member would be helpful because they deal with this stuff all the time, and they will know exactly what to do.
Your bird needs to see a vet ASAP! They can set the leg, bandage it, and perscribe pain medication for him.
put him in a shoe box with out no light comeing in give the bird water as needed. the box well make him not move around . there is nothing you can do for the leg but they heal fast few days in the box in the dark will make him not move around. put some warm stuff in the box like cotton or clean rags make a nest check on him or her about every 4 hours. if after the first night the bird will not survive
Our parakeet was limping and we thought it might be broke, so we taken her to the vet and discovered she was egg bound. They kept her two or three days and had to take the egg. she is better now, although her leg is still a little week, but getting better. To take the egg, they had to insert a needle and with draw the yoke from the egg. Biggest problem now is after all that handling and pain, she don’t trust our hands.
keep him fed and let him rest
