I would give the baby it’s own cage for awhile, give it time to grow and mature. The cages could be close to each other but if the older seems to be scareing the baby, put a dark colored towel between the cages for awhile.
Please take this opportunity to handle the baby and gently teach him people are a good thing ( of course after he has settled in some) and you would have a great friend and companion.
It could just be adjustment. Is she eating the same food she had at the store? When getting a new bird, it’s best to quarantine them from other birds in the household for about 10 days, in case they are sick or have parasites. Does her stool look normal when compared with the other bird’s stool? Is she puffed up, does her tail bob when she breathes?
Parakeets, like people have different personalities. Most eventually get along, in spite of age differences.
