Parakeet Cages
Category: Parakeet Supplies
Important Parakeet Cage Considerations:
- A cage for a single parakeet should be no smaller than 24 wide x 16 tall x 16 deep.
- Bar spacing should be no larger than 1/2 inch.
- Look for epoxy or powder-coating or stainless steel. Avoid brass, nickle, etc as these are toxic and parakeets use their beeks to climb the cage sides.
- Horizontal bars are preferable as parakeets climb their cage bars.
- Horizontal width is more important than height as parakeets fly horizontally, not vertically like helicopters.
