I was found hanging out near the flock of wild conures. Mickaboo has taken me in and is getting me vet care. I eat pellets and fruit, and love toys. I’m not a screamer. So, will you give me a forever home? Mar. 28, 2008 I’m just like a teenage boy Sun Conure. I flew away from my home, and when I was out in the wild, I could not find my way home. Thanks to you, Mickaboo, for taking me in and having the doctor check my health. I lost 2 of tail feathers, but doctor said they will grow back. I took my meds and had a recheck. Now, I’m a beautiful and healthy Sun Conure again. I am a very good guy and a great eater. I don’t scream or bite much at all. I’m also chatty and I like to talk into the dish, to make a louder sound. Some times I make human voice, sound like words, and my foster mom said she never can understand what I said. I love to make friends with other sun conures. I love to beg their attention. I am happy to sit on my cage all day and hang up side down. I love the long toys to play, I’m very distributed. I always need a fresh, safe toys supply. I love bathing, more water the better, then show my sexy body, and flap wings burn off my a little energy. I like to sit on you shoulder be scratched, and sit around your neck to keep me warm. I’m a charming little fellow; I can make your day. Seuss has been happily adopted. Nov. 09, 2008

How do you take care of a SICK/COLD PARAKEET?
Category: Parakeet Health
My young parakeet is obviously cold, and I’m doing my best to keep him warm. He’s in a box lined with a towel, and he’s wrapped in a towel. The box is wrapped in a thick quilt with the top uncovered so he can breathe, and the heat is on.
BUT HE IS STILL COLD! I don’t understand why he won’t warm up.
He fell off my sofa(less than 2 ft), had a seizure, and then started acting lethargic from there. He also lost some weight recently recently but his appetite didn’t go down at all.
*I’m pretty sure he’s sick, but I’m unable to take him to the vet due to financial issues. Is there anything I can do at home to make sure he lives?
I’ve kept him pretty warm I guess; He woke up about 5 minutes ago, and ate a whole lot. He tried to roam around and he flopped out of the box and hit his head.
I put him back into the box and he collapsed into his food. And he’s back to acting really lethargic. I don’t know if it’s completely him being all cold now. How would I go about checking for a head/neck or other injury?
Spider plant care help; Bought it with browned tips?
Category: Parakeet Health
Why I got one:
This will be the first plant I have ever owned. I have 0 plant knowledge. I needed to get it so I could do something about the dry air around the house so I can get my parakeets in a more humid-like environment. I heard from Avitech that they resperate and create humidity and don’t require pre-existing humidity to survive as the ferns do. I was told not to get a humidifier because they create spores that is harmful to the bird’s lungs, so I took the plant route.
Problem I am worried about regarding the spider plant:
The best ones Sears Hardware (The ONLY store around that has plants out this time of year) have are browned at the tips and some leaves are mushy, but it has a lot of healthy-looking ‘babies’ sprouted about the sides.
So I was wondering :
Do I cut the brown tips off?
Do I use regular scissors?
Do I pull out the dead parts or will that harm the plant?
Over all:
What should I do to bring this plant back to full-health?
I live in North Western Indiana so there’s very little sun-light this time of year, it’s pretty cold out 30 degrees, and we’re at 33 % humidity in doors. I plan on keeping the plant just above our huge bird cage hanging from the ceiling.
Thank you kindly for your time and help.
…also, how do I know when the babies are ready to be planted in other pots? What are the signs?
