Do parakeets do well in 6 hour drives?

I have to drive to california for a vactationa nd i feel guilty for leaving him alone. When im not home my parakeet George gets depressed and wont talk. the person that house sitting for us doesnt know how to care for parakeets and im concerned. Please answer thx!

How to care for Parakeets?

I’ve had mine for a while now, but I don’t do anything special for her. I give her food and water everyday. What kinds of treats can I give her? What about bathing? Anything, I think i should be doing more than what I am now.
