Will a female parakeet take care of a baby thats not her own?

I currently have a female parakeet and wish to hatch a baby. Instead of getting a male, I just want to get one egg. If I hatch a baby in an incubator and then put the baby in with the mom, will she feed and care for it. She is mature.

How do I care for my mom’s parakeets while I’m away?

My mom is on vacation until the beginning of the year. In a week, I’ll be gone until the beginning of the year as well. I don’t really know anyone else that can take care of them for us. It’s pretty cold because of winter. The inside of the house can drop into the low 40’s without the heater on. I’ll be gone for two weeks.
