sick Parakeet with runny poop, what to do?

I have a female Parakeet, around 3 years old. She used to lay many eggs but it has been awhile. The problem is that her poop is very runny and is sticking to her feathers.
she wont come out to fly and she isnt eating much. She sits on her perch kind of fluffed up.
I looked at another web site and it said something about Coccidiosis. Still not sure. She has never been to a vet.
I was hoping that I could find meds at the pet store, but I decided that I would not waste anymore time and just take her to the vet. I’ll keep you posted, Thanks all for your advice.
Thank you all for your concern. I took her to the vet on the same day. He said that she was egg bound and could get the egg out in ten minutes. Sadly, the egg was underdeveloped and clung to her uterus. She died a few days later.
Her mate doesn’t seem depressed. Although I am thinking for him of getting him another friend so he wont be lonely.
I am heart broken. She was only 3 years old.

We have a parakeet who has loose poop, does this wing lifting thing as if too hot, has stop talking to us.?

Took him to the vet 3 times, 2 courses of antibiotics over last 3 months. Got better after the first round, now the last week or so symptoms have returned. The vet did stool sample to check for parasites, etc. Bird is still eating, drinking, just out of sorts and still loose/soft poop. Not sure what to do next. Live is small town, no avian vets anywhere near us for miles. Don’t know whether this could be a molting/wanting a mate type problem. Vet can’t pinpoint the problem. Bird feels like he is “trembling” when I hold him, but feels warm. We are very careful about temerature of room, cage, etc. Not sure what to do. Very frustrating. Any advice?

well my bird, my parakeet, her poop’s recently been sticking to the area around her anus (is that what they are called on birds??????) and I think our bird may be dying.
She’s really old, at least 5 or 6 years old, she’s outlived another parakeet we’ve had for about 3 and a half years. We got her about 5 years ago, and by then she had already grown so she could fly and all.
Is my bird suffering from an illness or is it just old age? And also do you think it will die in the next few days? I would understand why as she is very old.
hmm she looks a lot better now…. a few minutes ago she was like deathly quiet……. aaaah, the old woman…. now she’s chirping. why is it so cold??? going to turn up the a/c.

So one day I was so frustrated with my Quaker parakeet pooping everywhere and my mom constantly yelling at me for it, I forced it to eat his own poop after it had an accident on my personal belongings, to attempt to teach him a lesson.

Now I feel sort of bad about it, but his home, food and water source is filled with poop anyways, even though I clean it daily.

Is this going to pose a huge health problem for him? Or will he be alright?
