Not only should you separate the injured bird and keep him in a cage by it’s self and comfortable, you need to take it to an Avian Vet. Other birds will pick on either a sick, smaller, or injured bird it’s just their nature called the “pecking order”.
If your budgie is “really hurt”, part of being a responsible pet owner is to get them medical help when required in addition to their regular scheduled check ups.
If your budgie is having problems perching, keep it’s food and water dishes on the bottom of the cage so it can reach them easily. I would also recommend you place either paper towel or some fleece in the bottom as well to give it a soft place to rest.
I honestly don’t intend to sound mean… but this isn’t about you it’s about your parakeet. Please take it to an Avian Vet. You can find one by doing a search for either an Avian Vet in your area or under Exotic Vet.
