Albino is a very rare occurrence in animals. They are born without any pigmentation anywhere. Usually they will be all white and have pink eyes.
Look it up on wikipedia.com
If your bird is acting odd, or if the behavior is suddenly anything different from normal, you likely have a health issue going on and it will have nothing to do with the color or type of bird. You probably should consider getting it a check up with a good Avian vet. An Albino of any kind has no pigment anywhere. Not in hair, feathers, skin or anywhere. It will have definitely red/pink eyes also. A true albino would be rare indeed and there is little chance that you have one. What you most likely have is a white Parakeet. That is not unusual. You don’t see totally white ones as often as the familiar blue, or green or yellow or turquoise but still, it is not something that is rare. And no, it is not a status thing at all. I hope that helps.
An albino budgerigar or budgie ( or as you call it a parakeet ), is white budgie with red eyes. They are not rare. They are just a type of budgie, a mutation of budgie. Just like there are blue, green, yellow and purple budgies there are albino budgies. Just a colour and type, thats all.
For all those that say they are rare…they are not rare. Maybe people think that if they havent seen too many in petshops.
It isnt a status thing….people are just describing their type of budgie.
Quarantine…………a MUST DO thing when you buy a budgie due to introducing illness to the birds you have….

Nothing is wrong, they are just a different mutation (Color) and people think that is the reason their bird is ill, but there isn’t any difference except that Albinos have red eyes and white feathers.
I’ve had six parakeets, two of them were albinos. From what I noticed, they didn’t act any different than the other four birds which had color. The only difference is appearance from what I know.
the only regular budgie is the original green form that originates here in australia.all other colours are colour mutations.there are several different types of colour mutation some of these are recessive , dominant , etc.the albino gene is a sex linked gene and is quite easy to breed there is also a yellow variety of albino called lutino this is also a sex linked gene.i would say your little bird is stressed or sick and it is nothing to do with being albino.another point you should of thought of is quarantine.if he is sick you may have put your other birds at risk by putting him straight in with your other birds.get an avian vet to look at him so you can help him and also prevent your others birds from getting sick.sorry if this worries you but you need to make sure the rest of your flock is ok
